BBX Crit Sessions
Gloria Anzaldúa’s Queer Decolonial Futurities: Free-Ass Subjectivities in the Borderlands
Lecture by Paola Bacchetta as part of the Curators Workshop, introduced by Antonia Majaca, in English

We have now reached full capacity for the event. Registration is no longer possible.

Paola Bacchetta’s talk engages with Gloria Anzaldúa’s conceptualization of subjectivities in the Borderlands/borderlands. Departing from how she situated herself: as Chicanx and queer in geographical, historical, cultural, social, and spiritual-energetic dimensionalities, the talk considers Anzaldúa’s self-and-other conceptualizations in-fusional-relationality to other humans and to all sentient and non-sentient beings-becomings across the planet. Finally, the presentation points towards Anzaldúa’s vision of our collective futurities.

Paola Bacchetta is Professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at University of California, Berkeley.

The Curators Workshop directed by Antonia Majaca and Sohrab Mohebbi acts as a close reading of the 10th Berlin Biennale, with unique interjections from selected respondents. For more information about the workshop and its public programs, please visit the project page.
