I’m Not Who You Think I’m Not #19: A History of Remembering
Dinner and performances
Isaiah Lopaz in collaboration with Aurélie Disasi, Skye Skyetshookii, Babiche Papaya and Troy Lopez

With a dinner and performances, A History of Remembering moves through nations, across borders, and into territories that have impacted the lives of people of Black African descent. This ongoing dialogue is carried out in remembrance of that which has been forgotten, hidden, or destroyed. Through the recitation of the names of our ancestors, in ritual and in verse spoken in Creole, Dutch, and Spanish, this performance series chronicles the distant past as it is remembered in the present tense. Our food is just as important as our history, and through the act of nourishing our bodies we digest the histories which have shaped us.

We have unfortunately reached full capacity for the event and registration is no longer possible.
